My bb7 has gone to a local company for shot blasting and powder coating. It's been there for 2 weeks now, so obviously I'm pretty desperate to get it back. This company does all kinds of work on a great scale and have alot of experience. They've never had any issues working on mountain bikes... Until now

The swing arm wasn't a problem in the blast cabinet, but they don't want to put the main frame in there in case of damage to the aluminium. They've shot blasted it by hand to virtually no effect, so now they're trying chemical stripping. This is working, but very slowly. No idea what paint was used on this frame but usual industrial methods aren't going well.

Does anyone have any useful information on this? I really want to be able to give these guys a tip to speed things up or my bike will be out of action for weeks

Cheers
