currently my balfa bb7 is running a Rockshox totem and i guess its blasphemy to put a single crown fork on a dh frame like the bb7 since 99% of the bb7's i have seen have all had 888's, boxxers, monster t's ect ect. (i love the idea of putting monster t's on my bb7 however i think it would be a little overkill since it already feels as heavy as a tank  which is one of the frames unavoidable flaws (IF you could call it a flaw) personally i think "more weight = more metal and more metal = more strength" besides weight isn't really an issue unless you're picky or weak.

anyway what are your thoughts on totems on a bb7? good idea? bad idea?

it is to my understanding that the bb7 came with 180mm travel boxxers when it first got released if thats the case then the totem is perfect with it being 180mm travel

i'm in 2 minds weather or not to save up and buy some 888's or boxxers for it but i'm not sure because i love the totem.

i'll probably end up keeping the totem on it though because its a REALLY nice fork and i'm one of those people who makes a point of being different  besides i'm wanting to upgrade from the fifth element shock which was probably on the frame since day 1.

If you are happy with the Totem, I definitely wouldn't reccomend changing to something else just because it looks more appropriate ;)

And BTW, my dream was always to have Shiver on BB7.

i guess i'll keep it as is then however i have only seen totems on a few bb7's on pinkebike every other bb7 has had dual crown forks but from seeing THIS http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=3551619117974&set=a.3532070669275.164225.1497521657&type=3&theater (even though that fork is the Lyrik the lyrik has 180mm max travel from what i understand) anyway yeah i thought it'd look great and perform great with the totem and i wasn't wrong. i should probably post pics of my bb7 in the "post your bb7" topic only thing is i haven't got a camera to do so but when i do i'll post mine :D

I used to run dual crown Shivers on mine. It was good but far too heavy. Since then I've stripped it right down, had it powder coated, fitted new bearings and built it up with new parts. I'm now using Rockshox Totem up front and its much better. I think it looks better too.
But now we are running with 7" travel front and 9" travel rear. Not a problem but I'm going to try my spare DHX5 shock. Its a 216x63mm so slightly shorter than standard. Should drop travel to around 8" which should be more balanced with the totem. Hopefully it will work well.

I would love to have the red Dorados to match my frame.
Not too happy with the seals in my 888
